It’s understood that parents will do anything for their kids. It turns out uncles also go to great lengths as well. Earlier this week 16 year-old Alyssa Elkins tasered State Highway Patrol trooper Josh Barry, her uncle. The tasing incident wasn’t some wanton act of domestic violence but one of family love and dedication.
In January, Alyssa Elkins received a devastating terminal diagnosis for leukemia, a decease she thought she had battled and beaten. With it’s return she decided to end treatments and spent her last days with family doing all the things she dreamed of, her bucket list.
On the list, using a taser.
Unbeknownst to her her family contacted the local Newark, Ohio police who found volunteers, that included her uncle, and supervised the event. 50 people gathered to watch and chant “Taser, Taser, Taser” as Alyssa tentatively pulled the trigger taking her uncle to the ground. His reply, “I’ll do anything for my niece.”
